About

Our academy proudly welcomes players from around the world, including Canada, the United States, Europe, and Australia. Through our exceptional billet program, players become part of the Burlington community by living with supportive local families who provide a positive home environment throughout the season.

Student-athletes attending school in person have the opportunity to study at Nelson High School, a respected academic institution known for developing high-achieving student-athletes who pursue NCAA and U SPORTS opportunities. Players seeking greater flexibility can also continue their education through online learning with their local high school or an Ontario curriculum program.

Northside Hockey Academy competes in the North American Prep Hockey League (NAPHL), participating in elite showcase tournaments throughout the season that provide players with valuable exposure to Junior, NCAA, and professional scouts across North America:

  • September 8–10 — Burlington
  • October 16–18 — Toronto
  • November 6–8 — Ottawa
  • November 27–29 — Toronto
  • December 11–13 — Stoney Creek
  • January 22–24 — Cornwall
  • February — USA AAA Hockey Showcase
  • March 19–21 — NAPHL Championship, Ottawa

Our teams train from September through the end of March with a high-performance development schedule designed to maximize player growth. Athletes practice Monday through Thursday from 3:30–5:00 PM, totaling six hours of on-ice team training each week. In addition, players receive two weekly morning skill development sessions totaling three additional hours of specialized training focused on skating, puck skills, shooting, hockey IQ, and compete level.

Off the ice, players train twice weekly in our state-of-the-art gym and also receive complimentary access to Elite Performance Center, located just 200 metres from the arena, giving athletes every opportunity to develop strength, conditioning, and overall athletic performance.

Northside Hockey Academy is proudly operated by the Conacher Group, which also owns the Strathroy Rockets of the GOJHL. Players who excel within our U17 and Prep programs earn opportunities to be identified and called up to the Junior B level with the Rockets, creating a direct pathway for advancement within our organization.

At Northside Hockey Academy, we are committed to developing skilled, disciplined, and motivated athletes while building a culture that inspires success in hockey, academics, and life.
